History of Apple Hill Angus

Five generations of the MacMaster Family have lived and farmed at Apple Hill since John and Catherine MacMaster came into the northern Michigan wilderness and settled here in 1876. Immigrants from the highlands of Scotland, the ancestral home of Aberdeen Angus, the MacMasters have a connection ancient and modern to the hardy, black cattle that have come to shape beef production around the globe. At Apple Hill, we believe in building things that last. We place the best of current technology on the solid foundation of long experience surviving in a challenging, wonderful place.
